The exterior of the 2025 Ford Explorer shines with its front Black Mesh grille that features chrome bars that can be substituted for satin chrome and ebony options. Should you opt to invest in the ST or ST-Line trim levels, then you'll be treating yourself to red brake calipers, an available black-painted roof mesh grille, and a Vapor Blue Metallic Paint that onlookers will be enamored with when you arrive at Tranquility Park. To add to all of that, the rear of the Explorer is also where you’ll find the standard power liftage for easy cargo access.
Engineering

Not only does it come equipped with Normal, Eco, Sport, Tow and Haul, Slippery, and Off-Road drive settings, but it has a 5,000-lb maximum towing capacity3 as well. When it comes to the main powertrain, the standard 2.3L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder motor will prove to be a solid choice for its 300 horsepower4 and 310 lb.-ft. of torque4, but the available 3.0L EcoBoost V6 option provides 400 horsepower4 and 415 lb.-ft.4 of torque that can make for a sizable upgrade. With either engine, you’ll be relying on a 10-speed automatic transmission to give you the smoothest of accelerations on Route 64.
